It's inspired by the black sand beach with basalt Reynisfjara situated in Iceland.
In Islandic, Myrkur actually means "darkness". This painting symbolizes the ocean
and the beach in dark stormy day. The gold goes for the treasure, that is in this magical place (metaphorical) and everyone wants to see.
